Fourth Entry

Manna left recently to go visit Commissar Wei. I guess he was looking for a new girlfriend and decided to get to know her. I don't really know if I should have taken her leaving as serious as I did since I'm already married. After her visit she came back to the hospital with me and told me how it worked out good, and how they were planning to keep dating. However she decided to write him a letter, and since her hand writting was so bad he decided to breakup with her. I feel bad for her since everyone is making fun of her now, but I'm kind of glad since no one else is taking her from me. Right now I'm quarantined with tuberculosis, and rooming with Geng Yang. He is a strong army general who Manna is starting to talk to now. However he did mention that he could help me get a divorce, which is great.

Third Entry

I recently have recieved a letter from my cousin Liang Meng telling me about his search for love. As soon as i read this i had the great idea to introduce him to Manna. This Would help keep the us form getting back in a relationship. Liang seemed to love being arround Manna, but the samething can't quite be said for Manna.
I also recently went back home to Wujia to ask for another divorice. Once again I was turned down by the judge, but this time there was a mob of people outside waiting to see if I got the divorous. I new now that this was a bigger deal then I thought. When I got back home though I was greated very warmly by my daughter Hua. It was great spending time with her for the first time in awhile. The night before I left Shuyu came to my room and talked to me about having a son to carry on the family when we passed away. I just couldn't do it though, we have growen to far abart for this.

Second Entry

I've moved back to my original military base. I just couldn't stand the cold weather. Now that im back Manna and Me have grown even closer. Problems are starting to arise however. The leaders are starting to grow suspicious of our relationship that is highly against the rules since I'm married.
Recently we had the annual staff dinner that i look forward to every year. It ended up not going to well thought because Manna had to much to drink. I had to carry her out of the dinner and back to her room. This brought even more suspicion to our relationship. My boss called my into his office the next day and I had to promis him nothing was going on. This may make things much more dificult between Manna and me.

Lin Kong's Point of View

Every summer I have to return to Goose Village to try to get a divorice from Shuyu. She comes with me everytime, but she always says no at the last moment. I can only hope she will go through with it this year. I have been seperated form her the last 17 years working at the military base, and I have recently become good friends with a girl named Manna who I hope to get to know better.
When we got to the courthouse the judge was not suprised at all to see use back again. I pleaded with the judge to finally let use get the devorice, but at the last moment her brother chimed in and ruined it for me. He said something along the lines of, "Judge Sun, my sister is an illiterate housewife and doesn't know how to express herself clearly, but i know how she feels." Then he went on to say something about her wanting to stay with me. Once again the judge turned down my request for a divorce, and even worse I'm moving military bases and im going to be away from Manna now.
